What is Base?

Base is built by popular cryptocurrency platform Coinbase. It is an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) network offering a secure, low-cost and developer-friendly way to build dApps on-chain. The network is powered by the open-source OP Stack created by Optimism. It's built as a bridge and is part of an open ecosystem, with integrations to Coinbase’s suite of products and users.


Developers can use Infura’s Base API to deploy their dApps using existing Ethereum tooling such as Truffle, remix and MetaMask.Enjoy faster and cheaper transactions on Base with the underlying security and decentralization of Ethereum.
